Who we are

CarPresto is operated by VIP Automotive Group (VIP Auto Group). VIP Automotive Group and the VIP Auto Group dealerships that appraise and buy vehicles through CarPresto are responsible for the information described here.

Information you give us

Vehicle details: VIN or license plate, mileage, ZIP code, condition answers, photos and video, and anything you tell us about the vehicle.

Contact details: name, email address and phone number, and an address if you book an appraisal at your location.

Sale details, when you go ahead with a sale: title, loan or lease information, lender and payoff details, driver license or other ID images, signatures, and the details we need to pay you.

Information collected automatically

Device and browser details, IP address and approximate location, pages you view, the ad or link that brought you here, and information from cookies and similar technologies as described in the Cookies Policy. Security tools also check whether a visitor is a person or an automated program.

Information from others

Vehicle data such as decoding, listings and recent sales from vehicle data providers; vehicle history, title, lien and theft checks; payoff amounts from your lender or leasing company; and records of calls you make to our dealership tracking numbers. Calls may be recorded where the law allows, for quality and training.

How we use information

To build your estimate, book and hold your appraisal, make, revise and complete offers, and buy your vehicle.

To contact you by email, phone and, with your consent, text about your vehicle, estimate, appraisal and sale.

To verify identity, ownership, title and payoff, and to prevent fraud, abuse and automated misuse.

To run, secure and improve the Service, understand which pages and ads work, and, with your consent, measure and show advertising.

To keep records, meet legal, tax and motor vehicle requirements, and enforce our terms.

How we share information

With VIP Auto Group dealerships, which appraise, buy and follow up about your vehicle, including through their customer management systems.

With service providers that work for us under contract: Cloudflare (hosting, storage, security, bot checks and website analytics), Supabase (database), MarketCheck (vehicle data; it receives your VIN, mileage and ZIP code only), Resend (email), DotDigital (text messages), Dropbox Sign (electronic signatures, when you sign electronically), and, only with your consent, Google and Meta (analytics and advertising measurement).

With your lender or leasing company to verify and pay off a loan or lease, with motor vehicle agencies to transfer title, and with others when the law requires it, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a merger, sale or reorganization of our business.

We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not give your contact details to outside dealers.

Text messages

We text you only if you agreed to receive texts. CarPresto texts are about your vehicle and your sale or trade: appointment confirmations and reminders, estimate and firm offer updates, requests for photos or documents, signing and payment updates, links to your portal, and replies from our team.

Consent is not a condition of selling your vehicle. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

Reply STOP to opt out at any time, and reply START to opt back in. Reply HELP for help, or email hello@mycarpresto.com.

We do not sell or share mobile numbers or text opt-in information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. The sharing described in this policy does not include text opt-in data or consent, except with the provider that delivers our texts.

Cookies and advertising

Analytics and advertising cookies run only after you choose to allow them, and you can change your choice at any time with Cookie choices in the footer. We treat a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as an opt-out of advertising cookies. See the Cookies Policy for details.

How long we keep information

We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, then delete it or remove what identifies you. Records of a completed purchase, such as title, odometer, bill of sale and identity verification, are kept as long as dealer, tax and motor vehicle laws require.

How we protect information

We use encryption in transit and at rest, limit access by role with multi-factor sign-in for staff, and use links that expire for photos and documents. No system is completely secure, so we cannot promise that information will never be accessed without permission.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, including New Jersey and Connecticut, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal information and certain profiling.

To make a request, email hello@mycarpresto.com with the subject "Privacy request". We will verify your identity before acting and respond within 45 days, or tell you if we need up to 45 more. An authorized agent may ask for you with your written permission. If we decline your request you may appeal by replying with "Appeal" in the subject. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.

We may keep information that the law requires us to keep or that we need to complete a sale, resolve disputes or prevent fraud.

Children

The Service is not for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date above shows the latest version. If we make a material change we will post it here and, where required, tell you directly.
